Haven't been in KK for around 12 months.
Have stayed here a few times and found it quite good and good location.
Any recent reports?

It was probably early March we stayed there. We were the first in the room as the tv plug was still tied up and the shelves in the fridge were still taped down as new.

There's more sheltered parking behind the office, under the building. It's a little tight, but not a problem for most drivers.

I think Pawin Mansion is the place you are referring to? (Walking out of #1 Bar toward the street, it would be 45° to the right, and set back from the street a bit.)
Only thing I'm not clear on is you said you stayed there in February? I remember it being under construction, but did not know of it being opened yet in February. I just noticed it being completed recently . . .
Anyway, I was in that area yesterday and snapped a photo and grabbed a card. It is not a hotel, just an apartment. The guy said rentals are 4,500/month (no A/C) and 5,000/month with Air Conditioner.

Not sure that the Mai Tai has a gym as requested by the op Scott.

He would be better off in the Kosa,Glacier or Charoen Thani IMO

The Mai Thai Guesthouse isn't exactly "central", but consider checking it out. 5,000 baht at the Kosa and you have to pay extra for wifi...ridiculous. The Orchid is another good option...200 meters from Central Plaza mall. Both places are about 1/2 the cost of the Kosa and free wifi.

I think Eric Bar down the street (toward the Pullman, and across from the 7-Eleven) has WiFi. The new Coffee House/Restaurant a few doors down from Eric may have too.
