I often read members comments and then , because, maybe, something they have said , I look at their profile . Sometimes the remarks make me wonder their nationality because it seems to clash with the way I think .. Why do we not have an optional nationality/country of origin shown in out profiles ???

Bill,
I agree that it would be useful BUT as only a few of us are foolhardy enough to publish any detail in our profiles it would probably be a non-starter. Most are too security conscious OR too lazy to fill out their profiles. 
If you really want to know, it doesn't take too much effort to read a member's posts and exercise the good old brain cells (while you still can!) to work it out.

I describe myself as an Englishman with Aussie citizenship - as for sporting competitions between them , I wait till the end , see who wins , and then declare my allegiance .
