Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on August 12, 1932, she became Queen Consort upon her marriage to King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950 and was later revered as the “Mother of the Nation.” Throughout her life, Queen Sirikit championed rural development, women’s empowerment, and the preservation of Thai arts and culture. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Thai monarchy, and a one-year mourning period has been declared by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
